Overview

A fresh concept in 35mm SLR system photography backed up by one of the world's leading optical manufacturer. The result was attractive-looking, top performance cameras to answer every need of the most demanding professional, yet with a lightness, compactness and ease of operation that set new standards in the camera maker's art. Prime attention was also given to ruggedness and durability.

The system boasted Zuiko interchangeable lenses from 8mm fish-eye to the 1000mm super telephoto. Among them were useful zooms and a shift lens providing both horizontal and vertical movement. All lenses satisfied the strictest requirements in terms of optical performance, range, and practicality. They also set new standards in compactness and light weight, in accordance with the OM design philosophy.
