The Contax 645 camera was an autofocus 6x4.5 cm SLR camera. In combination with the legendary Carl Zeiss T* lenses, the 645 became a tool for production of photographic art. Autofocus backed by a precision manual focus system provided the ultimate in focusing flexibility. Film flatness problems were adressed for the first time in any medium format camera through the development of a Real Time Vacuum system. Of course, the unrivaled Carl Zeiss T* lenses were the stars of the system. These lenses offered unmatched resolution and distortion control while T* insured that contrast and color were unrivaled.
