From the editor

The AF version of the Micro-Nikkor 55mm f2.8 which can be focused down to 23cm, which gives a reproduction ratio of 1:1 without the need for an extension ring. The filter size was increased from the 52mm to 62mm, and a ring around the barrel is used to select AF or manual focus. Like all early AF Nikkors it suffers from a very narrow focus ring which impairs its handling, and there is so much play in the AF cam system that often many photographers thought the lens had developed a fault due to the noises they heard when it operated.

Notes

  • The autofocus will not be available with Nikon D40, D40X, D60, D3000-D3500, D5000-D5600 digital SLR cameras.
