The legendary Dragon symbolizes the land of wonder on earth - CHINA. It also stands for fortune and nobility. Descendants of this great nation so called people of the Dragon.

To celebrate the special event 'Re-enter of Leica Camera into the China market in 1995', the Schmidt Group of Companies has specially requested Leica Camera GmbH of Germany to release a special series Leica M6 Gold Dragon camera set in limited edition.

This special version consists of a Leica M6 with rare Karung snake leather covering equipped with a Summicron-M f/2 50mm lens. The special engraving of the Gold Dragon and special serial number are separately engraved on the top cover of the body and the lens. Each outfit is packed in a valuable wooden presentation box made of rosewood. The box of classic Chinese design has an engraving of the dragon on the top cover together with quality Chinese silk lining inside. The deluxe combination makes it an extremely valuable item for collectors.

Worldwide distribution of this special edition is only limited to 300 sets. The special serial number starts with 000/300 to 300/300. The first set of number 000/300 is displayed at the Leica Museum in Solms, Germany while the last number 300/300 is presented to the Chinese Photographers Association and displayed at its headquarters in Beijing, China as a witness to history.
