From the editor
A special limited titanium plated LEICA M6 0.72 camera commissioned by the Swiss Leica dealer, Foto Ganz, Zurich, probably in 1992 (at least the serial number of one of the bodies belongs to the batch reserved for that particular year).
These cameras differ from the mass production model in the following ways:
- The Leitz roundel, normally red, is gold;
- On the top plate is engraved the cross-section diagram of the 50mm ELMAR but with a singlet instead of a doublet in the rear lens group (i.e. 3 elements in 3 groups; could it be an engraving error?);
- On removing the baseplate, a lot number, followed by "M6 G", "TITAN" (and "20/20" below "TITAN" on one of the bodies) can be seen engraved in the middle of the film-loading chart.
The exact number of units produced is unknown but the "20/20" engraving mentioned above hints at 20.
