From the editor
A large and heavy macro lens for Canon EOS series / Nikon D series 35mm full-frame digital SLR cameras. Technically, with a focal length of 60mm and a fairly fast speed of F/2, it can also be used as a portrait lens. However, judging by the focusing distance scale, most of which is taken up by distances from the closest to 0.5m, the lens is optimized for close-up shooting. At portrait distances, it will be very difficult to achieve precise focusing, since the focus throw from 1m to infinity is VERY SHORT.
When focusing at infinity, the front element is deeply recessed into the lens barrel. When focusing at the closest focusing distance, the front element moves forward but does not protrude beyond the lens barrel.
The lens does not have a USB port, but the firmware can be updated via the camera.
The Nikon F-mount version was announced in January 2019. It differs from the Canon EF-mount version in that it has a micro USB 2.0 Type B port at the rear of the lens, which can be used to update the lens firmware.
Notes
- Most lenses designed for the Nikon F mount are equipped with a mechanical diaphragm control system. However, the Nikon F-mount version of this lens features electromagnetic diaphragm (EMD) control system. It provides highly accurate diaphragm control and stable auto exposure performance during continuous shooting.
- EMD lenses are not compatible with Nikon D2- or D1-series, D200, D100, D90, D80, D70, D70s, D60, D50, D40, D40X, D3000 digital SLR cameras and Nikon film SLR cameras.
