From the editor

Accessory standard lens for 35mm SLR cameras. A deeply redesigned New Petzval 58/1.9, produced by order of Lomography back in 2013. Announced at the Fotoforum exhibition (April 22-24, 2021) and manufactured by the Krasnogorsky Zavod named after S.A. Zverev (Russia).

The lens is available in versions with "dumb" Nikon F or Canon EF mounts and is completely manual: there is no autofocus, aperture control and focusing are carried out using the corresponding rings on the lens barrel. The Nikon F mount version has 8 aperture blades, while the Canon EF mount version has 12.

A unique feature of this lens is the ability to change the degree of background twisting. This is done using an additional ring in the front part of the barrel, marked from 1 (uniform blur) to 7 (strong background twisting). The ring rotates without click stops, so it will be easy to achieve the desired effect. After adjusting the degree of twisting, the focus is lost, so you need to refocus.

The optical system is recessed deep into the barrel, so this lens does not require an accessory hood.
