Manufacturer description
Super wide lens using the latest HD coating and a round iris diaphragm for delineation performance. This super wide lens uses an aspherical lens and extra-low dispersion (ED) glass lens to correct distortion and chromatic aberration for delineation performance. The curvature of the first lens front surface was reduced, and it supports use of a circular polarizing filter. The lens also includes a built-in retractable sliding flower-shaped hood.
Features:
- This lens uses a new-generation multicoating that reduces the reflection rate in the visible spectrum up to 50% more than conventional multicoating. This enables the reduction of flare and ghosting for the shooting of clear, high-contrast images even under backlighting and other adverse conditions.
- Round iris diaphragm is used to enable rendering of soft round out-of-focus (bokeh) effect for illumination, shimmering on water surfaces, and other point light sources.
- Super wide lens with focal length equivalent to 23mm in 35mm film format for shooting emphasizing perspective and larger depths of field and for capturing wide photos with other unique imaging effects.
- Based on the design concept of the Limited series, this lens provides sharp, high contrast, clear imaging performance that is optimized for digital images.
- This super wide lens includes top-level correction for distortion and corrects magnification chromatic aberration and other aberration types for delivering delineation performance.
- New optical system for a exceptionally compact and lightweight design.
- Lens barrel, hood, and cap use a machined aluminum material.
- Instead of a dome-shaped protrusion, the lens front has a flat shape for enabling attachment of frequently-used circular polarizing light filters and commercially-available 49mm size filters for landscape photos.
- Retractable sliding flower-shaped hood that can be stored out of the way.
- Minimum shooting distance of 0.18m is possible.
- Quick-Shift Focus System for enabling manual focus operation after focusing by AF without any switching operation.
- SP (super protect) coating for protecting the lens front surface from water and dirt
