Manufacturer description #1

"МС Зенитар-1Н" 1.4/85 is a fast interchangeable lens of medium focal length, designed for cameras with a Nikon bayonet mount (FM, SE, F3 and their modifications).

The lens operates in the manual aperture and shutter speed setting mode.

The lens is connected to the camera using a bayonet mount, which ensures quick mounting and replacement of the lens.

The optical elements of the lens have a multilayer anti-reflective coating (MC), which more effectively reduces flare and light scattering when shooting against the light.

The lens is recommended for shooting portraits, landscapes and interiors in low light.

Manufacturer description #2

This compact prime lens has a fast speed, allowing you to achieve a shallow depth of field and a perfectly soft background blur, especially necessary when shooting classic portraits, while still preserving the details of your subject.

From the editor

A compact accessory short telephoto lens for 35mm SLR cameras. Announced in 2015 and manufactured by the Krasnogorsky Zavod named after S.A. Zverev (Russia).

The Zenitar lens with a focal length of 80-85mm to replace the legendary Helios-40-2 85/1.5 was developed by the Krasnogorsk plant since the late 1970s. Experimental samples were produced, the optical formula was recalculated, but the lens was never put into mass production. After the successful relaunch of the Helios-40-2, the plant decided to release the Zenitar 85/1.4. Despite almost identical focal length and speed, these are completely different lenses, with different "drawing" and controls. The Zenitar 85/1.4 is also significantly lighter than the Helios-40-2 and easier to use: there is only one ring for controlling the aperture. In addition, the lens has a multi-layer coating, which prevents unwanted flare and overall loss of contrast.

The lens is available in versions with "dumb" Nikon F or Canon EF mounts and is completely manual: there is no autofocus, aperture control and focusing are carried out using the corresponding rings on the lens barrel.
