From the editor
In a version for Sony A series 35mm mirrorless cameras, the lens was announced at Photokina 2018. A version for Nikon Z series 35mm mirrorless cameras followed in August 2019.
A heavy and large manual focus lens, formally suitable for shooting any wide-angle subjects. It should be noted, however, that the focusing distance scale of the lens is marked in such a way that the most accurate focusing can be done at distances from 0.19m to 1.5m, while infinity on the scale occurs immediately after the 3m mark, which greatly complicates focusing at medium and long distances. A focusing distance scale like this lens is more suited to close-up photography with an unusual wide-angle perspective, and it turns out that this is essentially the only case for which it makes sense to buy this lens.
When developing the design of the lens barrel, Chinese engineers were clearly inspired by the Leica M lenses, otherwise how can one explain the same order of the rings on the lens barrel: the aperture ring with F values is located above all, below is the focusing ring, the upper half of which is covered with fine ridges, and on the lower half there is a focusing distance scale with yellow foot marks and white meter marks, and, finally, the non-rotating lower part of the lens barrel with a depth of field scale made of white lines.
But more work should definitely have been done on the choice of the lens name. After all, Western buyers are more accustomed to names like Super-Angulon 20mm F/1.8 ASPH. or Color-Skopar(ex) 20mm F/1.8 Aspherical. "PFU RBMH". What the hell does this mean?! "Produced For U by the Relaxed Brain and Mighty Hands"?
