Manufacturer description #1

November 22, 2023 - After making our debut at Photopia Hamburg and Salon de la photo in Paris, Thypoch began to get bonded with a portion of manual and vintage lens lovers. Its unique philosophy of Thy-Photography came to sprout, which supports its users to explore boundless ways of personal expression via authentic images in assorted themes, i.e. street photography, portraits, landscape, fine art shooting, etc.

Nearly one month after the first appearance at the events, Thypoch is finally officially launching its first series Simera with two focal lengths - Simera FF 35mm f/1.4 & 28mm f/1.4 and are available to order globally.

Just as the slogan says, the ethos of “seeing into eternity” could be manifested via the ephemeral moments of everyday life. That is why Thypoch’s first series Simera was created. Infused with the meaning of “Today” in Greece, the Simera 35mm f/1.4 & 28mm f/1.4 ingeniously inspire their users to discover the hidden allure of ordinary days, in unlimited angles and untethered forms. What's more, Simera alludes to the imaging style of modernization.

Boasting a large aperture of f/1.4 and a 14-blade diaphragm for soft and dreamy bokeh, the Simera 35mm and 28mm easily separate the subjects from the background, offering a stunning visual of storytelling. These lenses also adopt floating elements to enhance the quality of the images shot at a close distance. Chromatic aberration and corner quality are efficiently improved thanks to the combination of aspherical elements and distinctive optics design.

To assist its users when capturing instant inspiration, the two lenses designed for Leica M mount in silver and black provide automatic depth-of-field indicators and make it easier to utilize hyperfocal distance.

The closest focusing distances for the 35mm and 28mm are 0.45m and 0.4m respectively, enabling the users to unleash their potential for more possibilities and exploring the intricacies of the subjects with extraordinary details. Meanwhile, the lenses support rangefinders for focus and there is a subtle resistance at 0.7 meters on the focus ring to mark a need for a switch to EVF to assure focus accuracy.

The user-friendly design of de-clicked and clicked modes of aperture ring adjustments can offer a smooth transition between videography and photography applications.

The Simera 35mm and 28mm in black or silver shell are both priced at $699 (€639) with a box and a square hood included.

Manufacturer description #2

Thypoch Simera offers a new way of seeing, a window into the present. Like a portal, it transports us beyond the constraints of the ordinary, revealing a world of hidden grandeur and subtle majesty.

35&28mm boasts a wide aperture of F1.4 and a 14-blade diaphragm that creates stunning bokeh, effortlessly isolating subjects from their surroundings and delivering a mesmerizing sense of space.

With a gentle focus roll-off, it weaves a visual aesthetic that transcends the boundaries of ordinary perception, painting poetry with every click.

With meticulous optical design and arrangement of lens elements, Simera maintains a compact body while achieving outstanding optical performance.

Both lenses feature built-in floating elements (FLE) to ensure optimal image performance at close distances, delivering sharp imaging from center to edge and conveying subtle narrative texture.

Thypoch Simera's sleek design harmonizes with the aesthetics of rangefinder cameras. The vintage-inspired aluminum alloy exterior, available in classic black and silver, evokes a sense of nostalgia.

Its compact and lightweight nature makes it an essential companion for street photography, capturing fleeting moments with ease.

With a minimum focusing distance of 0.45m, Thypoch Simera 35mm allows users to explore the subtleties of the subjects with extraordinary details.

The subtle resistance at 0.7m on focus ring provides the tactile feedback to intuitively alert when rangefinder focus will invalidate, and the EVF (electronic viewfinder) shall be used for optimal focus accuracy instead.

Capture stunning images with Thypoch Simera's remarkable F1.4 fast aperture with a shallow depth of field that allows for precise subject isolation, even in challenging low-light conditions. Infuse your image compositions with an exquisite artistic texture, evoking emotion and captivating viewers.

Seamlessly transition between click and de-click modes unlocks your creative potentials and enables smooth aperture adjustments during video shooting.

Inspired by the golden age of optics, this design enables photographers to easily visualize the range of focus within their composition, assisting them in making artistic decisions, especially when using hyperfocal distance in street and landscape photography.

The Thypoch Simera lenses seamlessly pair with rangefinder cameras, offering agile and precise focusing even in challenging low-light conditions.

It empowers photographers with greater control, ensuring the swift capture of every fleeting street moment when inspiration strikes, thus expanding the boundaries of your creative exploration.

Each Thypoch Simera lens comes with a retro-inspired square lens hood, meticulously anodized for durability and scratch resistance, ensuring both style and functionality.

The threaded interior of the hood maintains image sharpness even in direct light, faithfully capturing pure and vivid details.
