From the Popular Photography magazine (December 1981)
Kiron MC7 2X teleconverter is compatible with a wide range of 50-mm or longer fixed-focal-length or zoom lenses. Seven elements in six groups are stated to reduce risk of flare and vignetting while maintaining contrast and color saturation of prime lens, with improved corner sharpness. Autodiaphragm is compatible with motor drives, to five fps. Price, $129 in popular mounts, with hard case and five-year limited warranty.
From the Industrial Photography magazine (1981)
Model MC7 2X teleconverter consists of seven elements in six groups and is compatible with many lenses 50mm or longer, fixed focal length or zoom. Converts 50mm lens to 100mm telephoto, 70-210mm zoom to 140-420mm super tele-zoom and reduces effective aperture by two f/stops. Flattens field curvature so prime lens will maintain original minimum focusing distance but will get twice the focusing power. Auto diaphragm designed with 25-28 millisecond actuation to be compatible with motor drives up to 5 frames per second.
