Manufacturer description #1
With an innovative four-group multi-motion optical design, zoom-induced aberration changes are reduced to the absolute minimum, resulting in high-contrast, edge-to-edge sharp images throughout the focal length range. This lens gives you a wide variety of photographic opportunities such as snapshots, portraiture and sports to wildlife, close-ups of animals and even insects.
The lens offers a fast maximum aperture of f/3.8 (f/5.4 at f=300mm) in a compact, lightweight package. In addition, the lens features one-touch three-action control (zooming/focusing/macro) for convenience and fast operation.
The minimum object distance is 1.9 meters throughout the zooming range. This lens allows close focusing down to 0.34m at the f=60mm setting for an almost life-size 1:1.55 maximum macro magnification ratio.
Manufacturer description #2
This powerful telephoto zoom lens goes from a medium telephoto of 60mm to an ultra-telephoto range of 300mm quickly and easily. The lens includes a macro function with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:1.5. A one-touch ring feature means focusing, zooming, and macro modes are accessible using just one control ring.

Comments (3)
This lens was designed to fit on virtually any popular 35mm film SLR camera using an interchangeable mount adapter.
With Canon EOS SLR cameras, Sigma SA series SLR cameras or Sony A series digital SLR/SLT cameras you will also need an additional adapter. The same is true for digital mirrorless cameras from Canon and other manufacturers.
FOR EXAMPLE: if you have this lens and a dedicated interchangeable mount adapter for Pentax 35mm film SLR cameras, but you would like to mount this lens on a Canon EOS 6D digital SLR camera, then you will also need a Pentax K mount -> Canon EF mount adapter. Likewise, if you would like to mount this lens on a Fujifilm X-T5 digital mirrorless camera, you will also need a Pentax K mount -> Fujifilm X mount adapter.
Some people use a speed booster instead of a regular adapter.
Shooting with a lens through two adapters is quite questionable for a number of reasons, but some people just shoot like that.
