Manufacturer description #1
The Tamron SP 300mm F/2.8 LD (IF) lens has an entirely new, innovative optical design. The lens employs LD (Low Dispersion) glass in two of the front elements and the highest quality optical glass material is used in the remainder of the 10-element/7-group optical system. The lens also features an "Internal Floating Focus System" that allows each element to travel independently maintaining optimal distance between each other. By the employment of this innovative, entirely new optical construction, aberrations caused by focusing are virtually eliminated, resulting in superb resolution, contrast and color rendition, from wide open aperture to the minimum and at any shooting distance.
Manufacturer description #2
An ultra-high performance, fast telephoto lens to meet the needs of the most demanding professional photographers. This lens is well suited to the fast-action world of sports photography, but the lens' bright viewfinder image and fast aperture lends itself excellently to shooting indoor theatrical events. The nine-blade aperture design makes a nearly circular opening for a soft blurred background-an ideal effect for portraiture. Two large LD elements incorporated in the optical design produce sharp, clear pictures with high contrast and true color fidelity from corner-to-corner.
Tamron Adaptall-2 series
The third generation of Tamron lenses with interchangeable mount system for practically all major SLR cameras. Introduced in 1979.
- All-black finish;
- Compact, lightweight construction;
- Fully automatic diaphragm;
- Support for TTL open-aperture metering;
- One mount fits all lenses, regardless of maximum aperture;
- Accurate manual focusing with finely-ribbed focusing ring;
- Focus closer than most others of compatable focal lengths;
- Multi-layer anti-reflection coating.
