Manufacturer description

This lens covering the focal length of 200-500mm has an extremely fast maximum aperture of f/5.6, which is maintained throughout the entire zoom range, allowing the use of most TTL metering and AE systems. Yet it features a compact design measuring only 365mm in length. It is ideal for sports or other distant photography such as wildlife, aviation and surveillance applications.

The 14-element 10-group optical design provides exceptionally high contrast and optimum freedom from chromatic and spherical aberrations. Also, the resolving properties of the lens are outstanding, even down to the minimum object distance.

The minimum object distance of 2.5 meters of the lens is the shortest of any 200-500mm zoom lenses available.

The lens' features also include a built-in tripod mount, a 43mm drop-in rear one-touch filter system and a built-in lens hood.

Tamron Adaptall-2 series

The third generation of Tamron lenses with interchangeable mount system for practically all major SLR cameras. Introduced in 1979.

  • All-black finish;
  • Compact, lightweight construction;
  • Fully automatic diaphragm;
  • Support for TTL open-aperture metering;
  • One mount fits all lenses, regardless of maximum aperture;
  • Accurate manual focusing with finely-ribbed focusing ring;
  • Focus closer than most others of compatable focal lengths;
  • Multi-layer anti-reflection coating.
