TAMRON ANNOUNCES COMPACT AND LIGHTWEIGHT SUPER WIDE ANGLE ZOOM LENS
AF19-35mm F/3.5-4.5
(Model A10)
July 1, 2002, Commack, NY-Tamron Co., Ltd., announced the release of a new super wide-angle zoom ideal for travel and landscape photography as well as group portraits and adventure photography. With this new lens, Tamron provides photographers of all levels an affordable answer to super wide-angle zooms.
Tamron's AF19-35mm F/3.5-4.5 offers photographers authentic super wide-angle photography with an angle of view of 97°- 63°. Super wide-angle photography can be especially creative; however, standard wide-angle lenses, like 28mm and 24mm, cannot give you the type of perspective this new lens provides. Combining the super wide-angle 19mm perspective with a close M.O.D. of 19.68 inches, photographers can enjoy truly dramatic and fun image making.
Since the 19-35mm is ideal for travel photography that includes landscapes, cityscapes, tight street photography and markets, adventure photography such as rock-climbing and rafting, a compact and lightweight lens is invaluable. The lens is easy to carry anywhere as it weighs in at a mere 10.5 ounces and is only 2.66 inches long.
While compactness was a major direction given to Tamron's engineers, optical quality is always at the forefront. The AF19-35mm provides stable and high image quality throughout the zoom range and ensures high light transmission and excellent color fidelity that results in crisp, saturated images. Distortion is minimized, even at the super wide-angle end, and contrast performance is optimized over the entire focal length range. This lens also features a fixed front element group and filter mount, facilitating the use of polarizing filters. The lens hood is an extremely important included accessory that should be used at all times outdoors. Our flower-shaped dedicated lens hood ensures optimum shading at both super wide-angle 19mm and standard 35mm wide-angle.
The new Tamron AF19-35mm F/3.5-4.5 list price is $342.00 and is available in Canon AF, Minolta AF and Nikon-D AF mounts.
