The Quinar lens, designed especially for the Kine-Exacta, Praktica and similar high-value cameras, is a masterpiece of workmanship. Steinheil has produced a new, fast 135-mm. lens that has aroused considerable interest among Exakta photographers. This lens, the f/2.8 Quinar, is a five-element, coated objective with a preset diaphragm mechanism. It has unusual quality for this high speed and focal length. The lens stops down to f/32. The mount is beautifully satin-finished and the price includes a matching sunshade, and is equipped with a tripod socket. The Quinar is of great importance to photographers who want a large aperture, long lens for color, dimly lit, distance subjects and action pictures. The preset feature is especially helpful to photographers who must take a great many pictures within a short space of time.

The f/2.8, 135mm Quinar Telephoto lens has a preset diaphragm. It renders a 2.7 time magnification over a normal lens, and is an ideal telephoto lens for sports, birds, nature and candid photography. The Quinar has a 5-element lens system, and focuses down to 3.3 feet. There are 8 diaphragm stops to f/32. Angle of view is 18°. Filter size series 7.

Initially released in a silver barrel, but a version with a black barrel followed in 1960s. Neither the optical formula/weight/dimensions, nor other specifications changed.
