Manufacturer description #1
This compact and lightweight lens and a Pentax bellows unit K is all you need to be prepared for all types of nature studies. Whether it is a blackbird perched on a tree, a pine cone dangling from a branch, or an insect basking in the sun, they are all within your grasp, as the SMC Pentax Bellows 100mm f/4 offers uninterrupted focusing from infinity to greater than life-size.
Manufacturer description #2
The compact and lightweight 100mm f/4 bellows lens offers applications similar to those of the 100mm macro lens, except that it is designed specifically for use with bellows equipment. With Auto Bellows M, it offers magnifications to greater than life-size and also permits automatic diaphragm operation. When used with Bellows Unit M, diaphragm control is manual and magnifications run to 0.9X. A fine lens for the wide range of macrophotography with the bellows. It is also highly suited for both academic and creative nature photography, whether it's a pine cone dangling from a branch or an insect basking in the sun.
Manufacturer description #3
The ideal macro lens
You will find the 100mm focal length ideal for macrophotography. There is no fear of casting a shadow on the subject or frightening insects away because of the close proximity of the lens. Moreover, the increased distance between the camera and subject simplify the setting up of lights. You will also enjoy the pleasing perspective obtained from a 100mm lens. Finally, to ensure that you have ample depth of field in your close-ups, the SMC Pentax Bellows lens is provided with a minimum aperture of f/32. Uses 52mm filters.
Instant adjustments possible
As the SMC Pentax Bellows lens is focused, the bellows-extension is automatically indicated on the Pentax bellows scale. It is therefore possible to instantly set the bellows and lens to the proper position to fill the frame with the subject, such as a stamp. The subject-to-film distance and exposure factor for the same subject are also indicated. The bellows and lens can also be preset for any magnification desired.
Pentax series
The first generation of lenses designed for Asahi Pentax 35mm SLR cameras with bayonet mount. Introduced with Asahi Pentax K2, KX and KM in 1975.
- Robust, all-metal design with recessed focusing distance scale;
- Fully automatic diaphragm;
- Support for TTL open-aperture metering;
- Extremely accurate manual focusing with rubberized focusing ring;
- Multi-layer anti-reflection coating.
(except for 400mm+ super telephotos and bellows lenses).
