A moderate wide-angle lens with a very simple optical formula consisting of only 5 elements. Thanks to this, the lens is very compact, while the weight is influenced more by the metal barrel than the optical elements themselves.
The lens covers a wide range of subjects from landscapes and architecture to portraits. The latter genre is facilitated by the fast speed of F/1.8, which makes possible a shallow depth of field and a smooth, eye-pleasing background blur. The manufacturer's website states that the lens has 12 blades. In reality, there are 10.
The short closest focusing distance of 0.2m allows for close-ups of flowers and other small subjects.
The lens accepts small 43mm screw-in filters and comes with a round vented screw-in lens hood (maybe so as not to block the viewfinder of Fujifilm X-Pro series cameras?).
The lens is also sold under the name "Cheecar 25mm HD.MC 1:1.8".
