Manufacturer description #1
This is the world's first lens to provide a fast F2 speed in this focal length, which offers the amazingly wide taking angle of 92 degrees. It allows the photographer to focus and frame on a bright viewfinder image in low available light, to work in cramped interior conditions, and to produce snapshots with unusually exagerrated angle effects. True to the OM System design concept, the lens is highly functional and compact, and accepts a 55mm screw-in filter.
The floating lens group incorporated in the optical design solves the problem of image fall-off at close distances, a frequent difficulty with super wide angle lenses.
Sophisticated design and the use of new optical glasses contribute to superb picture quality with high resolution and contrast, faithful color reproduction, and minimized ghosts and flare. The lens is multi-coated.
The remarkable picture angle makes this lens ideal for architectural and interior photography as well as for the dramatic perspective effects inherent to a super wide angle.
Manufacturer description #2
The first lens in the world of this focal length with a super bright F2 aperture, which makes composing, focusing and low-light photography exceptionally easy. Yet despite the fantastic brightness, and equally impressive sharpness, weight is a mere 250 grams.
