From the editor
The first AF-version of the 180mm f2.8 model. To reduce the load on the focusing motor the lens has an IF design in which only the central group of elements is moved. This arrangement also allows image quality to be maintained down to the closest focusing distance of 1.5m. In common with other first version AF-Nikkors this lens has a narrow focusing ring and a plastic lens barrel, which unfortunately gives an impression of inferior quality.
Notes
- The autofocus will not be available with Nikon D40, D40X, D60, D3000-D3500, D5000-D5600 digital SLR cameras.
