Manufacturer description
The photographic lens "МИР-1В" is a high-speed wide-angle lens designed as an interchangeable lens for "Зенит" type cameras.
The lens can be used with all other domestic and foreign cameras with a frame size of 24x36 mm, a M42x1 thread mount and a working distance of 45.5 mm, with or without the automatic device controlling the jumping aperture.
The lens is suitable for photographing on both black and white and color film. High resolution with a wide field of view and good speed allow it to be used to take high-quality images in various conditions, including high-quality group shooting in small rooms with low light, which distinguishes this lens from others used in small format cameras. The aperture pre-set device increases the efficiency when photographing.
Light transmission: 0.78. Resolving power, lines/mm: in the center of the field: not less than 45, at the edge of the field: not less than 26.
From the editor
The lens was produced by the Vologda Optical and Mechanical Plant (USSR/Russia). In the lens name, "В" means "Вологда" (Vologda), the city in which the plant was located, and not the type of the lens mount, as, for example, in the original Soviet names of Zodiak-8 30/3.5 Fisheye or Vega-28 120/2.8 MC lenses.
Optically, the lens is based on the Carl Zeiss Jena DDR Flektogon 35/2.8.
Both the focusing ring and the focusing distance scale are located close to the lens mount, which makes focusing difficult.
Originally featuring finely ribbed aperture and preset rings and a knurled focusing ring, the design of the lens barrel was changed in the 1990s: the rings became wider, the preset and focusing rings were given a square texture, and the aperture ring was given rougher ribs.
This lens was also produced in parallel under the name "МИР-1Ш".
