Manufacturer description
Immensely versatile, lightweight and requiring a minimum of focusing, the 35mm Rokkor-Xs are often the choice of working photographers as the "normal" lens. They have many interesting applications for the serious amateur photographer as well. Even at maximum aperture, the f/2.8 provides extreme depth-of-field and remarkable consistency in corner-to-corner sharpness. For indoor, available-light photography, the fast f/1.8 Rokkor-X has no peer. The 35mm f/1.8 Rokkor-X has all of the features of the f/2.8 lens, but it is over one stop faster. Both lenses are recommended for candid and news photography. They give moderately wide to "normal" perspective while including considerably more of the scene with more inherent depth of the field.
