Manufacturer description
50mm f/1.2 MD Rokkor-X
50mm f/1.4 MD Rokkor-X
50mm f/1.7 MD Rokkor-X
These are all standard 50mm focal length lenses, suited for almost all general photographic purposes. They are ideal for available-light photography indoors and for other low illumination situations; all possess substantial light gathering properties. Fastest of the "normal" lenses is the 50mm f/1.2, an especially useful lens for candid portraiture in very low ambient light situations. The 50mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.7 are both extremely lightweight. All three are styled with waffle-pattern rubber focusing grips for improved handling characteristics, are also fitted with automatic iris diaphragms and meter-coupling lug rings. They thus provide for full-aperture light metering or focusing with the diaphragm always open to maximum aperture except at the instant of exposure.
