The 300mm Rokkor-Xs are invaluable for photography of unapproachable subjects, such as distant landmarks, or to keep you a safe distance from dangerous objects and situations. Each is equipped with a tripod socket for mid-section support and perfect camera balance. Both models also feature automatic, meter-coupled diaphragms and built-in telescoping lens shades.

Hey thank you for the information. I was trying to gather some info on a lens that was purchased on an impulse. This page has all the good stuff that I was looking for. So according to this, the lens was announced the same year that my SRT 102 came out, way back in the year of my HS graduation, 1973. So now I know, thanks to this site!
