From the Classic Camera magazine (February 1999)

Minolta are set to produce a Leica screw thread version of their 28mm f3.5 G-Rokkor lens as fitted to their top-of-the-range TC-1 35mm compact.

The limited edition lens will be restricted to a production run of 2000 units for worldwide sale and is part of Minolta's way of marking their 70th anniversary.

Comprising of five elements in five groups, the lens will feature two aspherical elements for pin sharp resolution. The lens will only be available in a brushed chrome metal finish and will be supplied with a matching lens hood. The lens is 51mm in diameter, 19.5mm long and weighs in at 110g. The minimum focusing distance is 80cm and f22 is the minimum aperture.

From the editor

Only 2000 units with chrome finish were released in 1998 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Minolta Corporation.
