From the editor
The 35mm equivalent focal length of the lens, which is approx. 50mm, allows the Meike Neo AF 33/1.4 to be classified as a standard lens covering a wide range of subjects from landscapes and architecture to portraits. The latter genre is facilitated by the ultra-fast speed of F/1.4, which makes possible a shallow depth of field and a very smooth, eye-pleasing background blur. Night photography enthusiasts will also appreciate the maximum speed of this lens, as it does not require raising the ISO too high. The manufacturer did not indicate any special elements for this lens in the description, but they are probably there. When stopping down, 9 aperture blades will keep the out-of-focus highlight's a more rounded shape.
Since the lens is a professional model, it has a physical aperture ring with Auto-Exposure setting and a focus mode switch, but unfortunately there is no weather sealing. However, for some reason, the manufacturer was embarrassed to indicate in the description that the lens has a protective gasket around the mount. It is designed to keep out dust and moisture when the lens is fitted to the camera body. The lens has a moderate weight and dimensions, quite competitive for an APS-C lens.
The lens mount has a USB Type C port, which can be used to update the lens firmware.
