A moderate wide-angle / standard lens with a simple optical formula that does not include any special elements. The lens covers a wide range of subjects from landscapes and architecture to portraits. However, the speed of F/2.8 is quite modest, compared to F/1.8 the difference is more than 1 stop. You'll only get a smooth, noticeable background blur with this lens when shooting close-up, and only if the background is far enough away. When stopping down, 9 aperture blades will keep the out-of-focus highlight's a more rounded shape.
The short closest focusing distance of 0.25m allows for close-ups of flowers and other small subjects.
The light weight (102g) and overall length of only 29mm make this lens very portable and convenient for casual or travel photography, if you don't mind focusing manually.
The lens accepts small 49mm screw-in filters, while a lens hood is not available.
The lens is also sold under the names "NEEWER MULTI COATED 2.8/28" and "VOKING MULTI COATED 2.8/28".
