Manufacturer description
Its built-in, between-the-lens shutter lets you synchronize electronic flash at all speeds from 1/30 to 1/500 sec. easily. The lens-shutter speed is set on the collar at the front of the lens. Or, bypass the between-the-lens shutter and set the collar to the appropriate position to use the focal-plane shutter of the camera itself.
