Manufacturer description #1
May 1996
Elmsford, NY - Since a company's success depends on trying to please all of its customers, Mamiya has developed a third 150mm lens for the 645 system. The 150mm f/2.8 offers the widest maximum aperture of the three 150mm 645 lenses, one being an f/3.5 and the other an f/3.8 (leaf shutter).
This lens could be the difference between a good image and a great one in dimly lit areas such as churches, auditoriums and sports arenas. The f/2.8 aperture at this focal length also makes it easier to isolate subjects while throwing distracting backgrounds out of focus, making it the ideal choice for fashion photography.
The 150mm f/2.8 can be used on the Mamiya 645 PRO, Super and the original M645.
Manufacturer description #2
The 150mm f/2.8 is a high speed telephoto utilizing Mamiya's ultra-low dispersion glass for superior performance at all apertures. It is ideally matched for use with the 2X Tele-Extender for performance identical to the 300mm f/5.6 lens. In addition, many fashion and sports photographers find it an excellent companion to the Mamiya 300mm f/2.8 APO. Applications include portraiture, fashion, beauty, sports, landscape and existing light telephotography.
