Manufacturer description #1
Hutthurm, December 5, 2015 - HandeVision releases its new IBERIT full frame lens series, presenting the unpretentious lenses with a constant speed of 2.4 and focal lengths of 24, 35, 50, 75 and 90 mm. They come in black and in silver and are initially available for SONY NEX E, Fuji X and Leica M mount systems.
HandeVision became a sensation in May of 2013 when it launched IBELUX f0.85/40mm - the fastest lens for mirrorless DSLM cameras.
After almost two years of development, the German-Chinese joint venture is now releasing the new IBERIT lens family for the full frame format.
The compact IBERIT lenses are ideally suited for mirrorless cameras. They are small and fast enough to handle any and all photographic situations.
For instance, cropping portraits, or landscape and street photography. All capabilities for image composition and visual imagery can be creatively realized with the manual lenses.
During development, particular attention was placed on achieving a light weight and compact size in order to live up to the guiding principle of mirrorless cameras. IBERIT lenses can be used on cameras with full frame sensors as well as cameras with APS-C sensors.
The design calculated with demand for highest image quality for digital sensors is based on classic constructions. Without autofocus and electronic aperture control also for the version with SONY NEX and FUJI X mount systems. As a result, the photographer is in complete control when selecting the focus point and thus the original photography experience is preserved compared to autofocus lenses.
Contrary to current trends where more and more plastic is used, the mechanics here are based, just as with the IBELUX f0.85/40mm, on proven quality and rugged and long-lasting metal construction with anodized aluminum, brass and stainless steel. The IBERIT lenses are distinguished by timeless design and high-quality workmanship.
The lenses are based on “German Engineering“. Prototypes were developed, assembled and tested in Germany. Series production in Shanghai in accordance with German quality criteria.
The new IBERIT lenses with focal lengths of 35, 50 and 75 mm will be available in specialist shops as of January 2016. The IBERIT 24 and 90 mm lenses will be released later in the year.
All lenses come with a cover for the front and back of the lens.
About HandeVision:The HandeVision brand is the result of a long-standing cooperation between the German lens manufacturer IB/E Optics GmbH and the industry specialist Shanghai Transvision Photographic Equipment Co. Ltd, which is also known for its KIPON brand as manufacturer of high quality adapters. IB/E Optics GmbH with headquarters in Germany is a specialist for high-end optics used in automotive and medical technology applications as well as film and photography optical products. The “HandeVision” brand name forms a basis for this interaction by combining “Han” which is Mandarin Chinese for China and “DE” for Germany.
Manufacturer description #2
2022 version lenses manufactured more precisely, with tighter tolerances and highest optical performance. According to our production plan, whole set of lenses (24mm - 35mm - 50mm - 75mm - 90mm) will be available before the end of Sep 2022. A lens hood will be supplied with the 2022 version lenses.
From the editor
A family of lenses with practical focal lengths and a moderately fast speed of F/2.4, designed for 35mm full-frame digital mirrorless cameras. The idea of creating this family was, of course, borrowed from LEICA, which released the Summarit-M F/2.5 series lenses in 2007 and the Summarit-M F/2.4 series lenses in 2014. But if LEICA managed to create compact and lightweight lenses with simple optical formulas, well suited for street or travel photography, then Kipon has only a simple optical design out of all three components of success, and the lenses are not the lightest and are definitely not compact (except for the 35/2.4). But at least they do look elegant. However, we should also thank LEICA for this, since it was their design of the lens barrel that was clearly borrowed here.
All lenses have a "dumb" mount with no electrical contacts, so aperture control, let alone focusing, must be done manually. Focal length of the lens, maximum speed and selected aperture are not transmitted to the camera. But at least the lenses have convenient, useful focusing distance and depth of field scales. The rotation angles of the manual focusing ring range from 90° with the 90mm lens to 120° with the 24mm and 35mm lenses.
All lenses have 6 aperture blades, except for the 90mm, which has 10. In principle, this is not very critical, since it is assumed that you will take pictures with a blurred background only at F/2.4 when the aperture is fully open and perfectly round.
All lenses use the same size filters (49mm), which is very convenient. From 2022 onwards, all lenses come with bayonet-type lens hoods: most lenses have petal-shaped hoods, and only the 90mm has a round hood.
The Iberit 24/2.4 lens was also released in a version with the LEICA M mount. We decided to record it in the database separately.
