With a classic focal length of 85mm, the KamLan 85/1.4 can be classified as a portrait lens. Shooting in this genre is facilitated by the speed of F/1.4, which makes possible a shallow depth of field and a very smooth, eye-pleasing background blur. Night photography enthusiasts will also appreciate the maximum speed of this lens, as it does not require raising the ISO too high.

A large aperture requires large diameter optical elements, which in turn results in heavy weight. With the lens weighing 722g, you won't be able to shoot for long periods of time.

Most likely, a version for Sony 35mm full-frame mirrorless cameras was also produced, in which the rear part of the barrel was made longer to compensate for the difference in flange focal distances.
