Manufacturer description

The МС Юпитер-Супер-2.8/20 М lens is a compact, wide-angle, fast lens designed for SLR cameras with a frame format of 24 x 36 mm.

The lens will find wide application among professionals and amateurs who dream of creating artistic photographs with an expressive depiction of form and space. It is indispensable when photographing architectural ensembles, interiors, landscapes, and for shooting in museums.

The aperture control mechanism operates in automatic mode.

A small focal length (20mm) provides a large angular field of view, a large depth of field and emphasizes the perspective. Distant objects are depicted relatively small, close ones - large. This leads to a clear delineation of the foreground, middle ground, and background and makes it possible to emphasize various compositional details of the frame.

The multilayer anti-reflective coating applied to the elements of the lens guarantees high image quality and contrast even when photographing against the light with a large difference in the brightness of the subject. The lens is successfully used in low-light conditions or when shooting on low-sensitivity film.

The lens barrel allows for the mounting of M30x0.75 screw-type filters. The filters are mounted at the rear. The lens can be supplied with УФ-1 (UV-1), ЖЗ-2 (YG-2), О-2.8 (Or-2.8) filters.

Light transmission, not less than: 0.8. Resolving power in the center, mm-1: not less than 55, at the edges, mm-1: not less than 25.

The last consumer photographic lens produced by the Jupiter Plant (Russia) in small batches in 1998 with the M42 screw mount only.
