Manufacturer description
The "МС Юпитер-9" lens in a special barrel is designed for "Зенит" type cameras. Having a large speed, it is especially valuable for a SLR camera, in which focusing on a ground glass is carried out at the maximum aperture, that is, at the highest brightness and at the smallest depth of field. Allowing you to take pictures from longer distances, in low light, of a fast moving subject, it is very convenient for reporter work. The lens performs very well in portrait photography. When negatives are enlarged to 9x12, this lens gives a natural perspective. The use of multi-layer anti-reflection coatings on optical parts in the "МС Юпитер-9" lens significantly increased light transmission, reduced light scattering, and increased image contrast of the object being shot on the film.
Light transmission: 0.76 (SC) / 0.80 (MC). Resolving power, mm-1: at the center of the field: 33, at the edges of the field: 18.
From the editor
As the predecessor, but with the M42 screw mount. Initially, the lens was single-coated, but at some point it became multi-coated.
