From the editor
A standard single-coated lens for the Soviet "Заря" 35mm viewfinder camera, and Soviet "Зоркий" and "ФЭД" 35mm rangefinder cameras.
The lens was produced in small batches by the Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant (USSR) in 1954-1957. Mass production was carried out by the Kharkov Engineering Plant "FED" (USSR) from 1955.
Optically, the Industar-26M is based on the well-known Tessar optical design.
Over time, the design of the lens barrel underwent some changes: there were versions with both a focusing lever and a focusing ring (without a lever). Either way, the manual focus control is right next to the camera mount, making it awkward to rotate.
The aperture ring provides continuous aperture adjustment without click-stops.
