Manufacturer description #1

Göteborg Oct 1999 - Following the great success of Hasselblad XPan, the unique 35 mm dual-format camera, many photographers have eagerly requested an ultra-wide-angle lens option in the XPan lens program. Therefore Hasselblad is proud to announce the introduction of the Hasselblad 5.6/30 mm Aspherical. This ultra-wide-angle lens features the same superb optical performance as the 45 and 90 mm lenses for XPan and provides a horizontal view of 94° when used with the camera's panorama format. Despite its extreme wide-angle coverage, colour fringing is virtually eliminated and distortion is hardly noticeable.

The new Hasselblad 5.6/30 mm Aspherical is supplied together with a bright optical viewfinder with built-in spirit level and field markings for regular and panorama formats. To meet highest demand for even corner-to-corner illumination, the lens is also supplied with a dedicated 58 mm centre filter as well as a bayonet fitted lens shade, front and rear lens cap and a lens pouch.

A first public presentation of the Hasselblad 5.6/30 mm Aspherical will take place at the Gothenburg Photo Show, October 14-17 followed by the Photo Plus East exhibition in New York, October 28-30. Regular deliveries are planned to commence in January 2000.

Manufacturer description #2

When used for the 24x65 mm panorama format, this ultra-wide-angle lens provides a horizontal view of almost 94°, retaining its superb performance over the entire image field. Distortion is hardly noticeable.

The lens is supplied with a viewfinder with built-in spirit level and field markings for the regular and panorama formats. It attaches to the camera's flash shoe. The camera rangefinder is used for focusing only.

The Hasselblad 5.6/30 mm Aspherical is supplied as a kit consisting of the lens, Viewfinder XPan 30, Lens shade 30 XPan and Centre filter XPan for 30 mm.

  • SUPER-EBC FUJINON 1:5.6 f=30mm - for Fujifilm TX-1 and TX-2 cameras.

According to Hasselblad, one of the lens elements has two aspherical surfaces.
