With an angle of view of 167°, the DÖRR fisheye lens provides totally new perspectives. Whether for landscape photos, architectural photos or for panoramic shots - the 12mm fisheye turns every motif into something special.

With the DÖRR Fisheye you may also enhance wedding reports and events with striking shots with extreme angles.

The lens fits every mirrorless Canon EOS M / Sony E-Mount system camera with APS-C sensor. Due to the short focal length of only 12mm and the set aperture of 1:7,4 the photos show a depth of field with from close range to infinity. With the distance ring the focus can be adjusted from 0.3m to infinity.

The compact metal housing with metal bayonet is robust and durable. The optical construction with a multi-layer coating on the lens surfaces ensures an optimal image quality with very good sharpness and brilliance.

The lens is equipped with a built-in lens hood.

Typical characteristics of fisheye lenses

• Extreme angle of view (at least 180° diagonally);
• Circular types (the image circle of the lens is inscribed in the image frame) or diagonal types (cover the entire image frame);
• Usually of equidistant projection type, with the distance from the picture center to any given point always proportional to the angle from the optical axis to that point;
• Huge barrel distortion;
• Short closest focusing distance (0.20 - 0.30m with 35mm full-frame prime lenses);
• Very large depth of field, eliminating the need for autofocus or precise manual focusing;
• Due to the extreme angle of view and convex front element, front filters cannot be used;
• Often equipped with a filter turret with swivel-mounted filters;
• Often come with a small, built-in petal-shaped lens hood (*).

(*) Some APS-C models have a detachable lens hood, which allows such lenses to be used on 35mm full-frame cameras as circular fisheyes.

An optically primitive diagonal fisheye lens developed and produced by the Japanese company Toda Seiko. It has a fixed aperture, so the only control on the metal lens barrel is the focusing ring. Despite the presence of an "AF" mark on the focusing distance scale, the lens is completely manual. As for the closest focusing distance, the manufacturer did not specify it. The focusing distance scale does have a 0.5m mark, but the focusing ring can be rotated beyond this mark. Fortunately, the description on the DÖRR website gives a hint that the closest focusing distance is 0.30m.
