From the editor
The rangefinder version of this lens was well received by users due to its excellent image quality in all genres of photography from portraits to landscapes. In response to requests from photographers, Cosina created a version for SLR cameras with the same optical formula, so not only owners of rangefinder cameras can now enjoy the beautiful images of Heliar. A lens that provides beautiful images must also have a beautiful shape, so Cosina used a new barrel design that is best suited for SLR cameras. As before, it is reliable and all-metal. Moreover, it is a compact design comparable in size to a standard lens, which makes this lens very portable. Being designed for popular SLR cameras, the lens received a shorter closest focusing distance of 70cm.
