Manufacturer description
This ultra-compact model is the world's lightest 300mm lens, weighing on the average the same as most 200mm lenses. A useful tool for creating dynamic images because of the large magnification, shallow depth-of-field, and compression of the foreground and background which are inherent qualities of a 300mm lens.
From the editor
Made by Tamron. Optically, the lens is the same as the [Auto] Tamron-F 300/5.6.
The lens was also produced for the Alpa Si 2000 35mm SLR camera under the name MULTI-COATED AUTO-ALPA 1:5.6/300mm FOR ALPA SWISS.
