Manufacturer description
Its 4X magnification makes it well suited for candid photography and exciting "close-ups". The limited depth-of-field encountered in a lens of this focal length aids in isolating the subject from a distracting background. Specially designed for comfortable handheld shooting, and its maximum aperture of F/3.5 assures that a tripod is virtually never required.
From the editor
Made by Tamron. Optically, the lens is the same as the [Auto] Tamron-F 200/3.5.
The lens was also produced for the Alpa Si 2000 35mm SLR camera under the name MULTI-COATED AUTO-ALPA 1:3.5/200mm FOR ALPA SWISS.
