Manufacturer description
LONG TELEPHOTO LENSES fit all Canon SLR cameras (RP, RM, R-2000 FP, FX, TL-QL, FT-QL, Pellix, and Pellix QL.) They have a single control ring which is a manual aperture setting. These lenses do not have an automatic or pre-set diaphragm. Focusing is accomplished by using a Bellows R and a Lens Supporter which are interchangeable between lenses. Filters (48mm special extra thin) are inserted behind the lens in a carriage in the Lens Supporter.
A Lens Supporter and Bellows R must be used with these lenses. An intermediate tube for proper spacing is also necessary, but the proper tube is included with each lens set.
From the editor
This lens could also be used on Canon 7/7s rangefinder cameras with the Mirror Box 2.
The closest focusing distance is 13.5m (for reference only, because it is a lens head without focusing helicoid).
The Canon System of Photography booklet (PUB 5313B) lists the following specifications for the "rangefinder" version of this lens: weight: 1900g (including all necessary attachments), closest focusing distance: 11m.
