Manufacturer description #1

Designed particularly for speed and high performance, this lens' f/2 maximum aperture is excellent for its focal length and very helpful for available-light shooting in less than bright light. It produces an image with pleasingly soft-toned edges at large apertures. Flare is kept to a minimum even at f/2. Just right for portraiture; also excellent for snapshots, buildings, etc.

Manufacturer description #2

Despite its fast speed of f/2, this lens is very small and lightweight. It produces high quality images from its f/2 full aperture by sufficiently restraining sperical and chromatic aberrations.

As a result of holding down aberrations caused by changes in shooting distance, astigmatism is properly corrected so that beautiful pictures can be produced.

Manufacturer description #3

This totally new Canon FD lens design is sure to win the accolades of professional and knowledgeable amateur photographers alike. In use, its combination of good magnification and high speed will prove to be highly advantageous. And its special optical design will prove to be a revelation in performance, setting standards in its class. Canon's special combination of high resolving power and contrast in this lens make its performance nothing short of exceptional.

Like all new FD series lenses, it has fast one-hand mounting for superior convenience and handling.
