Manufacturer description
Gauss type. Lightweight and very sharp in resolution. No flare even at full aperture opening. Accepts 40mm screw-in type filters.
From the editor
The Canon Camera Museum lists 2 versions: the first from April 1962 and the second from July 1963. Both versions look the same and have the same dimensions and weight. We couldn't find any differences except for the infrared mark ("R"), which is missing from the depth-of-field scale of the second version.
