From the Liverpool and Manchester Photographic Journal (1967)

The Petri Flex V was reviewed in the 26 July 1963 issue. The V6 has the same main outlines as its predecessors, with chamfered sides, back and front, and the pentaprism housing leaning slightly forward over the lens mount. The top plate has a centre ridge on which the controls are placed, and its front rim is carried up over the pentaprism housing. These points of styling, together with the 45° angled shutter release on the camera front, give the camera the characteristic Petri appearance.

The camera body is 144 mm in length, 52 mm in depth, and 94 mm in height. The body only weight is 23 oz, and 30 oz with standard 55 mm f/2 lens. It ranks, therefore, as medium in size and weight for a 35 mm SLR.

From the editor

As the Petri PENTA V3, but with M sync in addition to FP & X.

The original name of the camera was Petri V VI (which, in our opinion, is an absolutely ill-conceived name from a marketing point of view), but its minor upgrade - a camera body with a built-in hot shoe - was sold under the name Petri V6II, so we decided to record the original model under the name Petri V6.
