User-Friendly Auto Picture Operation with Illumination Mode Dial
The MZ-6 incorporates the simple-to-operate Auto Picture mode with the eye-catching illumination mode. Just point the camera at your subject and press the shutter release button lightly, and the MZ-6 instantly selects the best exposure program for your subject from five distinctive Picture Programs (Portrait, Action, Landscape, Close-Up and Standard). The selected program is indicated on the illumination mode dial and in the viewfinder display for quick, at-a-glance confirmation. With the MZ-6, the best shutter chance is always preserved as a beautiful photograph — automatically and effortlessly!
1/4000-Second High-Speed Shutter with 1/125-Second Flash Sync
The MZ-6 offers a top shutter speed of 1/4000 second to capture the decisive moment of a subject in motion. Its high-speed flash synchronization at 1/125 second lets you use larger apertures to narrow the depth of field, for more dramatic close-up and macro images using a flash.
User-Oriented PENTAX Functions to Personalize Operations
The MZ-6 allows you to customize 11 basic camera functions to satisfy your preferences and assure efficient operations, including auto-bracketing steps, timing of shutter release in wireless remote control operation and coupling between AE lock and AF lock.
A Choice of AF Modes with Fingertip Operation
With simple fingertip operation, you can switch the autofocus mode between versatile 3-point wide-area AF and pinpoint spot AF.
Auto Bracketing for Effortless Exposure Adjustment
Using the convenient auto bracketing function, you can capture your subject at three different exposure levels (under, normal and over) to create a different atmosphere for each image. A desired bracketing step can be easily selected from ±1/2EV, ±1/3EV, ±2/3EV and ±1EV.
Other Outstanding Features
- A choice of six Picture Modes, with easy-to-identify pictographs on the mode dial, to create the desired visual effect for different subjects and situations
- Built-in auto pop-up flash with automatic discharge under low-light and backlight conditions
- Wireless infrared remote control for instant or 3-second-delay shutter release from a distance (in combination with the optional remote controller)
- Slow-shutter-speed warning to offer an alert of camera shake by changing the color of LCD viewfinder indication from green to orange
- AE lock to memorize an exposure value before shutter release
- Electronic preview for at-a-glance confirmation of depth-of-field (in-focus area) through the viewfinder
- Bright, clear viewfinder with built-in diopter adjuster
