Manufacturer description

THE UNIQUE MEDIUM FORMAT CAMERA BUILT FOR SLR EYE-LEVEL FAST EZ ACTION

NORITA 66 SLR was concieved and designed keeping in mind the rigid requirements of the professional photo-journalist, industrial photographer and advanced amateur.

Minimum possible camera size for the medium film format - 6X6cm (2 1/4 X 2 1/4") Function/form design concept.

NORITA 66 SLR offers a larger negative with the operational ease of a 35mm.

Standard lens is f2.0. One of the fastest lens on any 6X6 cm. A full range of lenses is available from the super-wide 40mm to the telephoto 400 mm lens.

A wide range of accessories supplement the basic NORITA 66 SLR to provide for broad applications in the field of photography.

ONE OF THE WORLD'S GREAT NEW CAMERAS - JUST CHECK ITS ADVANTAGES !

First, there is size. NORITA 66 SLR is slightly larger than comparable 35mm cameras in weight and dimension. Nearly two pounds lighter than the other medium format SLR's. Try it on for size.

Next, there is a SUPER-SPEED F/2.0 80mm lens interchangeable by a breechlock bayonet mount and supplied as standard equipment. One of the fastest lens in its class, this lens augments the prism finder brightness and is ideal for "available light" photography. Critical focusing becomes almost second nature. All aperture, depth of field, and distance markings are clearly visible from the top. A depth of field previewer has been incorporated in the lens.

NORITA 66 SLR provides a precision lightweight pentaprism as standard. The pentaprism is easily interchangeable for a waist-level finder or a metered pentaprism. Correction diopter lenses are available for the pentaprism.

Precision focus is achieved with a split-image rangefinder incorporated in the center of a microprism circle surrounded by a grained ground glass viewing and focusing screen. A microprism rangefinder screen and groundglass screen are also available with any of NORITA 66 SLR Models.

Film path is the normal "C" configuration. The film travels from the film spool to the take-up spool without reverse curl. And, the film chamber is built to handle either 120 or 220 film, for 12 or 24 exposures, without any accessories.

Most important, the film is held flat with platelike precision in the glassless chamber. A double rail film track, similar to those in the finest 35mm cameras, gives the film room to "breathe" and a chance to settle into the ideal film focus position.

Then there is its fast-action handling convenience. An exposure counter registers the shot sequence and the shutter cocking mechanism disengages after the last shot to prevent shooting without film.

Double exposures - and, multiple exposures - are easily made. This is a special feature of the NORITA 66 SLR.

Focal plane shutter speeds follow the best camera design, and are in three groups: a) bulb to 1/30th second (M class bulb), b) 1/60th to 1/500th second and Bulb to 1/15th second (Focal plane type bulb), and c) electronic flash (strobe)-(X)-at the fast 1/40th second and Bulb to 1/15th second. Electronic flash (strobe)-(X) is on a special "click-stop" of the speed selector dial. A special front leaf shutter lens provides strobe capabilities up to 1/500th of a second.
