From the editor
A Japanese Leica copy produced by Nicca Camera Company from 1955 to 1956. Rough estimates suggest that no more than 4,000 bodies were released in total. The company's first die-cast model, also the first model with an opening back hinged to the right for easy film loading. Has a single PC sync socket (F.X) on the back of the top plate, with automatic switching of sync type. Essentially a Leica IIIf clone with some Leica M3 features. The camera body was accompanied by the rigid Nikkor-H 50/2 or Nikkor-S 50/1.4 standard lenses.
In 1956, at the request of Australian company, Gardner & Salmon Pty. Ltd, this camera was produced in a small batch of 90 bodies under the name Snider 35 and was supplied with Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon 50/2 lenses.
