Manufacturer description

The high quality of the "Ленинград" camera was noted at a number of national and international exhibitions. On the World exhibition in Brussels in 1958, the camera was awarded the highest award - the Grand Prix.

"Ленинград" is a modern camera that, due to its excellent technical specifications, design, finish, can satisfy everyone who purchased it.

If you are an amateur photographer, then the high-speed, coated "Юпитер-8" lens and an accurate rangefinder combined with viefinder will help you quickly learn how to take good black-and-white and color photographs. The "Ленинград" camera is easy to use, has a convenient loading system in the light, a self-timer and a double exposures lock.

In "Ленинград", a photojournalist will find a wide range of shutter speeds, an adjustable synchronizer for flashes, and a universal viewfinder that provides ease of use with interchangeable lenses. This camera can successfully take photos of sports subjects, and with the help of a small device - photographs under water.

"Ленинград" will allow a scientist, using interchangeable lenses, to make a reproduction, photograph at a distant or close distance, and capture a fast-moving object at a rate of up to three frames per second.

The automatic shutter winding and film advance mechanisms reduce the preparation time for the next shot. This feature is typical only for the "Ленинград" camera.

In addition to the "Юпитер-8" lens, the camera can use interchangeable lenses:

From the editor

The camera was produced in the USSR from 1956 to 1968 by the State Optical-Mechanical Plant named after OGPU ("ГОМЗ") / from 1962 transformed into the Leningrad Optical-Mechanical Association ("ЛОМО") / from 1962 to 1965 renamed to the Leningrad Association of Optical and Mechanical Enterprises ("ЛООМП").

About 76,000 cameras were produced, including prototypes from 1952.

The Leningrad is considered one of the most advanced Soviet mass-production cameras, developed without any borrowing from foreign designs. Released in 1956, the Leningrad's technical specifications corresponded to the Zorki-4 produced from 1956 by the Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant (USSR).

Due to the structural protrusion of the front part of the body, it is not possible to use collapsible lenses with a focusing lever (for example, "Индустар-22").

Due to its high cost and low reliability of some components, the Leningrad was not widely used.

The weight and dimensions are indicated for the camera body with the "Юпитер-8" lens.
