A rare Leica copy produced in 1947 by Hensoldt-Werke in Wetzlar, Germany. A rough estimate is that about 150 bodies were released. According to unconfirmed information, production was stopped after objections from Leitz, the company that produced the original Leica cameras.
The viewfinder and rangefinder are combined into one window. Film is advanced with a winding knob. There is no rewind knob; the film is passed from one cassette into another. The shutter release is at the front. The back and base of the camera detach as one piece for loading.
The camera body was accompanied by the rangefinder-coupled collapsible Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 50/2.8 or 50/3.5 standard lenses. Judging by the serial numbers of the two known lenses - 1,784,241 and 1,791,595, respectively - they date back to the end of 1941.
