Eine ausgereifte, überlegene Konstruktion, die allen Anforderungen der modernen Amateur- und Berufs-Fotografie gewachsen ist. Die EXAKTA real ist eine echte System-Kamera, die durch die reichhaltige Ausstattung an Objektiven und Zubehör, zu den leistungsstarken Spitzen-Kameras gezählt werden kann.

Auf der Grundlage einer 30-jährigen Tradition entstand die EXAKTA real. Erfahrene Konstrukteure, Techniker und Mitarbeiter konzentrierten ihre Kenntnisse und ihr Wissen auf die Neukonstruktion dieser Kamera.

Die bewährten Vorzüge einer echten, einäugigen Spiegelreflex-Kamera blieben erhalten - die neuen Konstruktionsmerkmale machen sie zur modernsten EXAKTA, die es je gab.

Die neuen, markanten Konstruktionsmerkmale der EXAKTA real:

• Kontinuierliches Zeiteinstellsystem mit Clickstop-Drehknopf für "B" - "T" - 2 bis 1/1000 sec. Zeiteinstellskala: 2 - 1 - 1/2 - 1/4 - 1/8 - 1/15 - "B" - "T" - 1/30 - "Blitz" - 1/60 - 1/125 - 1/250 - 1/500 - 1/1000 sec. Die Zeiteinstellung erfolgt mittels Clickstop-Drehknopf auf einer Ebene in unterschiedsloser Drehbewegung nach links oder rechts. Die jeweiligen Zeitwerte rasten leicht spürbar ein. Mit dieser ersten "Einknopf-Allzeit-Einstellung" ist die EXAKTA real zur "schnellen" Spiegelreflex-Kamera geworden.
• Vergrößerter Objektiv-Anschluß (46 mm ⌀) erzielt volle, vignettierungsfreie Formatausnutzung auch bei extrem langen Brennweiten.
• Twin-Auslösung: Zwei kameraseitige Verschlußauslöser für die bessere und sichere Handhabung der Kamera mit Zubehör (z. B. Blitzleuchten usw.). Wahlweise Links- oder Rechtshand-Auslösung.
• Automatisch kuppelnde Rückspul-Arretierung. Der sich am Kameraboden befindliche Rückspul-Arretierungs-Knopf bleibt nach Betätigung in seiner Auskuppellage (Befreiung vom lästigen Dauerdruck während der Film-Rückspulung) und springt erst nach Betätigung des Schnellaufzughebels automatisch zurück. Damit wird eine wesentlich bequemere Bedienung der Kamera bei der Film-Rückspulung erreicht. Der Rückspulvorgang selbst wird durch eine griffige ausklappbare Kurbel mi Rücklaufspulknopf erleichtert.
• Selbstauslöser mit Funktionsstopp. Während des Ablaufs des Hemmwerks (Selbstauslöser) kann eine direkte Verschlußlösung erfolgen. Der mechanische Ablauf wird dadurch nicht unterbrochen - die Funktion des Auslösens durch den Selbstauslöser (Hemmwerk) wird gestoppt. Durch diese Funktionstrennung wird die Unabhängigkeit von Selbstauslöser-Vorgaben möglich.
• Neuartige Verriegelung der Kamera-Rückwand. Scharniergeführte Rückwand - aus verwindungsfreiem Spritzguß - ist vom Körper weg, also endlich anatomisch richtig, voll aufklappbar. Der bequemere Filmwechsel ergibt sich dabei von selbst.

A sophisticated, superior design that meets all the requirements of modern amateur and professional photography. The EXAKTA real is a real system camera that can be counted among the high-performance top cameras thanks to its extensive range of lenses and accessories.

EXAKTA real was created on the basis of a 30-year tradition. Experienced designers, technicians and employees concentrated their knowledge on the redesign of this camera.

The proven advantages of a real, single-lens reflex camera have been retained - the new design features make it the most modern EXAKTA ever.

The new, striking design features of the EXAKTA real:

• Continuous shutter speed setting system with clickstop rotary knob for "B" - "T" - 2 to 1/1000 sec. Shutter speed setting scale: 2 - 1 - 1/2 - 1/4 - 1/8 - 1/15 - "B" - "T " - 1/30 - "Flash" - 1/60 - 1/125 - 1/250 - 1/500 - 1/1000 sec. The shutter speed is set using the clickstop rotary knob in arbitrary rotation to the left or right. The respective shutter speed values snap into place easily and noticeably. With this first "one-button all-shutter speed setting" the EXAKTA has really become a "fast" SLR camera.
• Enlarged lens mount (46 mm ⌀) achieves full, vignetting-free format utilization even with extremely long focal lengths.
• Twin release: Two camera-side shutter releases for better and safer handling of the camera with accessories (e.g. flash lights, etc.). Choice of left or right hand release.
• Automatical clutch rewind lock. The rewind locking button on the bottom of the camera remains in its disengaged position after being pressed (relief from the annoying constant pressure during film rewinding) and only jumps back automatically after the quick-winding lever has been pressed. This makes operating the camera much more convenient when rewinding film. The rewinding process itself is made easier by a handy fold-out crank with a rewind button.
• Self-timer with function stop. The shutter can be released directly while the escapement mechanism (self-timer) is running. This does not interrupt the mechanical process - the release function of the self-timer (escapement mechanism) is stopped. This separation of functions makes independence from self-timer specifications possible.
• Innovative locking of the camera back panel. Hinged back panel - made of torsion-free injection molding - can be fully opened away from the body, so it is finally anatomically correct. The more convenient film change happens automatically.

From the editor

A short-lived 35mm film SLR produced by Ihagee Kamerawerk A.G. (West Germany). The camera had noteworthy differences from the classic Exakta models produced by Ihagee East, such as two front-mounted shutter release buttons allowing right- or left-hand operation, and a dial for controlling all shutter speeds. It also had a larger-diameter (46mm) lens mount to accomodate internal automatic aperture mechanism (cameras made in Dresden relied on an external mechanism). Ihagee West produced an adapter which allowed original Exakta lenses to be mounted to the real.

Production began in 1966, but ceased already in 1967: the high price and the lack of pro features (exposure meter, for example) did not contribute to sales. The exact number of units produced is unknown, but it is definitely small (in 2010, a camera body with number 001289 was sold at auction).
